Our journey toward ecosystem restoration began with a vibrant partnership between Caring Without Borders, Prof. Luciana Marçon, and her team at Urbano School in Taubaté. Together, we involved students in hands-on permaculture design and regenerative practices, working to restore and regenerate ecosystems. Although the project is currently paused, we are eager to resume and expand our work with renewed support. Our plans include revitalising the Urbano School and regenerating surrounding areas in Taubaté and beyond.

Ireland and Northern Ireland have experienced near-total deforestation, with a staggering 99% of native forests cleared, and only 11% restored to date. This ecological imbalance has triggered profound social, environmental, and economic challenges that extend beyond their borders. Urgent global attention is required to restore and regenerate the remaining 89% of land to prevent further socio-environmental and economic crises.

Together with my housemates, we’ve been transforming a neglected back garden and alleyway into a flourishing space filled with diverse crops, trees, flowers, and a regenerative pond. Recently, our neighbours have begun to join in, expanding this community effort.
We have an abundance of seeds and saplings, ready to be planted, but we need more resources to grow this work and restore nature on a larger scale. With your support, we can replant trees and bring native species back to their natural habitats.
